My very first blog post using Zonelets on Neocities (whew, that's a clunky ass mouthful).
I must say, this really DOES take me back to my very earliest website building days. It's beautiful in its 1 simplicity, and in its hands-on approach.
It's another rainy day here in that grey void that I live in. Rain? in a void? I hear you saying (somehow). Yes. I say in response.
Rainy days aside, Spring in the northeast really is magical—in large part, I believe, because we have to wait so gosh darn long for it to appear. Where my parents live, flowers start blooming in February. Here? Mid-April if we're lucky. We're now in early May, and everything is lovely, bright, pastel colors—assuming the rain has stopped and the sun has emerged from its hidey-hole to illuminate those glorious colors.
Spring gets me so excited for all the possibilities. I get super excited about short bike rides, and just bicycles in general. I get excited to walk in the woods. I thrill at buds and flowers emerging, at all the species of birds returning north to us. Gardening projects and playing games outside with the kids. I get unusually excited about bees and pollinators of all kinds starting to buzz about again. Middle-age is a funny thing, i guess ;)
Here are some photos I've snapped of spring appearing in my town.

- When to use It's vs Its -- god, the english language is so, so, soooooooo stupid.
